Electronic Archiving & Digital Preservation Policy

The Indonesian Journal of Research and Educational Review (IJRER) is committed to the long-term preservation, accessibility, and perpetual availability of all scholarly content published in the journal. To ensure that research articles remain accessible to the global academic community even in the event of platform migration, server failures, or journal discontinuation, IJRER employs a multi-layered electronic archiving and preservation strategy compliant with Keepers Registry standards.

  1. Digital Archiving Frameworks: IJRER participates in leading international digital preservation networks and repository schemes:

  1. Archiving Protocols & Technology Standards
  2. LOCKSS and CLOCKSS Manifests: IJRER enables the Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) and Controlled LOCKSS (CLOCKSS) protocols to allow participating libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
  1. Persistent Identifiers (DOIs) & Metadata Standard
  • Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs): Every published article is assigned a permanent DOI registered through Crossref (Prefix: 10.xxxx/ijrer). DOIs ensure perpetual URL resolution even if the primary website URL changes.
  • Rich Metadata Harvesting: Article metadata is formatted using standard OAI-PMH (Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting), Dublin Core, and XML formats compatible with Scopus, DOAJ, PubMed Central (PMC), and Web of Science.
  1. Self-Archiving & Institutional Repository Policy (Green Open Access): IJRER fully supports author self-archiving and open research dissemination under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) license. Authors are encouraged to deposit their work according to the following policy:
  • Pre-print Version (Submitted Draft): Authors may archive pre-print versions on personal websites, institutional repositories, or pre-print servers (e.g., EdArXiv, SSRN).
  • Post-print Version (Accepted Author Manuscript): Authors may deposit accepted manuscripts in institutional or subject repositories immediately upon acceptance.
  • Published Version (Version of Record - Publisher PDF): Authors may deposit the final published PDF in any repository, provided the original source and DOI link are explicitly acknowledged.
  1. Continuity & Self-Discontinuation Guarantee: In the unlikely event that Indonesian Journal of Research and Educational Review (IJRER) ceases publication or experiences catastrophic infrastructure failure:
  1. Perpetual Access: All published articles will remain accessible through the PKP Preservation Network, LOCKSS/CLOCKSS, and Internet Archive.
  2. DOI Resolution: Crossref DOIs will be updated to point to the fallback dark-archive or secondary preservation site, ensuring zero link breakage for citations.
