Mathematical Thinking, Cognition, and Metacognition

1 Items

Research on mathematical reasoning, argumentation and proof, critical and creative thinking, problem posing and solving, mathematical connections, communication, and multiple representations. This area also includes mathematical modelling, statistical reasoning, data literacy, computational thinking in mathematics, metacognitive regulation, and the development of mathematical understanding. Studies of misconceptions, learning obstacles, cognitive biases, and affective or motivational factors are welcome when their relationship to higher-order mathematical thinking is clearly established.
