Analisis Pemahaman Relasional Siswa dalam Menyelesaikan Masalah Matematika: Studi pada Siswa Menengah Kejuruan

Pemahaman relasional penting dimiliki siswa karena mereka harus menghubungkan pengetahuan baru dalam memecahkan masalah matematika sertmengidentifikasi hubungan antar topik yang berbeda. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pemahaman relasional siswa dalam menyelesaikan masalah matematika. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain studi kasus dengan melibatkan delapan siswa kelas X Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan memberikan soal matematika, wawancara dan rekaman audio kepada dua orang siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) pada tahap memahami masalah, siswa dapat menulis dan menjelaskan masalah serta mengetahui alasan menggunakannya; (2) pada tahap merencanakan penyelesaian, siswa dapat mengetahui, memilih dan menggunakan strategi yang dapat digunakan untuk menyelesaikan masalah yang diberikan dan mengetahui alasan penggunaan strategi tersebut, namun salah satu subjek belum mampu merencanakan dengan baik sehingga akan dilakukan pada tahap selanjutnya; (3) pada tahap melaksanakan rencana, siswa dapat mengenali relevansi materi dengan permasalahan yang diberikan, mampu menggunakan sifat-sifat, simbol, rumus atau kaidah yang berkaitan dengan permasalahan yang diberikandan menjelaskan permasalahan dan kaidah dalam menyelesaikan masalah; (4) pada tahap mengecek kembali, siswa dapat memeriksa kebenaran hasil soal yang diberikan dan menghasilkan jawaban yang benar.
