Pemanfaatan Akun Instagram “Bersama Tanpa Stigma” sebagai Media Edukasi untuk Meningkatkan Kesadaran Masyarakat Mengenai Autisme dan Disabilitas

Abstract

The low level of public understanding of autism and disability remains one of the factors contributing to stigma and discrimination against persons with disabilities. On the other hand, the high use of social media, particularly Instagram, provides an opportunity to utilize it as an educational medium that can reach a wider audience. This community service activity aimed to utilize the Instagram account @bersama.tanpastigma as an educational medium to increase public awareness of disability. The activity was conducted online in July 2026, targeting the general public, particularly Generation Z. The implementation method consisted of three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The preparation stage involved a literature review and the development of educational materials. The implementation stage involved creating and publishing three carousel posts focusing on the potential of autistic individuals, the importance of empathy and family support in creating an inclusive learning environment for autistic children, and hidden disabilities. Evaluation was conducted using the Instagram Insights feature by analyzing indicators including views, reach, likes, comments, shares, saves, profile visits, and follows. The results showed that all content was successfully published and received positive responses from the audience. The content on the potential of autistic individuals obtained 7,682 views and reached 2,178 accounts; the content on the importance of empathy and family support in creating an inclusive learning environment for autistic children obtained 2,692 views and reached 969 accounts; while the hidden disabilities content obtained 5,590 views and reached 3,140 accounts. These results indicate a high level of audience interest in the educational content presented. The findings demonstrate that Instagram can be effectively utilized as a digital educational medium to broaden the dissemination of information about autism and disability and increase public engagement in supporting a more inclusive environment.
