Contextual and Realistic Mathematics Education
1 Items
Research on how meaningful contexts and realistic approaches support mathematization, modelling, conceptual development, and higher-order mathematical thinking. Contributions grounded in Realistic Mathematics Education may investigate guided reinvention, didactical phenomenology, progressive mathematization, and students’ development and use of models. Other contextual approaches are welcome when their theoretical foundations and educational contributions are clearly articulated; the use of a real-world context alone does not establish an RME approach.
