Peer Review Process
All submitted manuscripts will be read by the editors at Hayyan Journal.
Hayyan Journal is committed to upholding the integrity of peer review and upholding the highest standards of review. Once your paper has been assessed for suitability by the editor, it will be peer-reviewed in a single-blind manner by independent and anonymous expert reviewers. Hayyan Journal Review Guidelines:
Step 1: Editorial assessment
Peer review follows a number of stages, starting with submitting your article to the journal. In this first stage, the journal editor will decide whether the article is suitable for the journal, by asking questions such as:
• Have the authors followed the journal's guidelines?
• Is the focus of the article appropriate for the journal?
• Will the journal's readers find it interesting and useful?
The editor may reject the article outright, but if not, the editor will proceed to the next stage, which is peer review.
Note: Hayyan Journal will prioritize papers that also submit a plagiarism check (turnitin/ithenticate) as a supplementary file.
Step 2: First round of peer review
The editor will seek out and contact potential referees or other researchers or academics who are experts in your field. They will be asked to read your article, and advise the editor whether to publish your paper in the journal
Step 3: Revise and resubmit
You can then revise your article based on the reviewers’ comments, resubmitting it with some or all of the changes made. You may be asked to make further revisions or the paper may be rejected if the editors consider that the revisions you have made are inadequate.
Step 4: Copyedit
This is where your paper is then checked for plagiarism. The manuscript should not be detected more than 10% and you are asked to revise the paper if the manuscript is detected more than 10%.
Step 5: Publish
The manuscript will be published when our plagiarism checker detects the manuscript below 10%.
The editor-in-chief of Hayyan Journal has full rights to choose which manuscripts will be published after going through the editorial process.
