Author Guideline

Manuscripts must be prepared in accordance with the instructions below and submitted through our website using the Online Journal System (OJS). Submitted articles must be exclusively submitted to Hayyan Journal and have never been and will not be published in other scientific media. If the article is accepted for publication, then the author is deemed to agree to allow his/her article (including the abstract) to be published exclusively in Hayyan Journal through online media. Manuscripts are written in English. Abstracts must be written in English and Indonesian. The manuscript is written in the following order: Title Page, Abstract, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusions, Acknowledgements, and Bibliography.

The following is an explanation of each section:

  1. Title: A title should be the fewest possible words that accurately describe the content of the paper. Written in english (Times new roman 14, bold, center, and Capitalize Each Word)
  2. Abstract: All information in the article you write in the abstract is in the form of a short review. The article you submit contains a maximum of 250 words; The abstract must contain one to two supporting sentences, information on research objectives, research methods, research results, research conclusions. (Times New Roman, 10)
  3. Keywords: contain min. 3 keywords, max. 5 keywords
  4. Introduction: This guide is a manuscript writing template for HAYYAN JOURNAL This guide is available online which you can download via our official website at: https:// ……… The introduction must provide clear background such as the existence of research gaps from a clear problem statement and proposed solutions. Supported by relevant literature from a maximum of the past 10 years, write down the research objectives, research novelty and research implications. This must be understandable by colleagues from various disciplines. Compiling and citing using body notes follows the rules of the American Psychological Association 7th. The reference and quotation are written using parentheses (name, year), for example: (Sudarsana, 2016), (Creswell & Poth, 2016), (Taer et al., 2018). For articles published in other language translation journals, first quote the Indonesian language, then follow the publishing language. Articles must be written between approximately 2500-5000 words including body text, tables, images and a list of references. Articles must be written in a word document (MS Word), 1 space (single space), and Times New Roman style. 5. Methods: Explain the chronology of research, including research methods, research design, research procedures (in the form of algorithms, flow charts, storyboards or others), time and place of research (if the article is based on field research), population, research sample, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques, state the hypothesis if your article contains one (optional). The description of the research process should be supported by references, so that the explanation can be accepted scientifically. HAYYAN JOURNAL: Volume xx Number xx, 2024
  6. Results And Discussion: Results consist of the research findings, including description of the collected data, analysis of the data, and interpretation of the data using the relevant theory. It should be clear and concise. Discussion should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Tables and Figure

Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text. Title of the table should be typed above the table and align text to the left, 10pt font Times New Roman. The word “table” and “number of the table” should be typed in bold, while title of the table should not be typed in bold (normal). Numbering for the title of table should use an Arabic word (1, 2, 3, and so forth), table should be appeared align text to the left. To write the content of the table, it should use 9pt TNR and single spaced. Source of the table should be typed below the table, align text to the left, 10pt TNR.

Picture, graph, figure, photo and diagram should be placed at the center. Picture, graph, figure, photo, and diagram should not be in colorful type (should be in white and black, or grayscale), and if it made in color, it should be readable when it later printed in grayscale.

Number and title should be typed above the picture, graph, figure, photo and diagram. Title of the figure should be numbered (use an Arabic letter, 1, 2, 3 and so forth), typed in 10 pt TNR (in normal, not bold), center and single spaced. A title should comprise a brief description of the illustration/figure. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. The lettering on the artwork should be clearly readable and in a proportional measure and should have a finished, printed size of 9 pt for normal text and no smaller than 7 pt for subscript and superscript characters. Figures should have a brief description in the main body of text. Please mention the source of taken figure and write it below figure, align text to the left, 10pt font Time New Roman.

Please kindly avoid mentioning position of figure/table e.g. “figure below” or “table as follow” because the position will be rearranged in lay-outing process.

Abbreviations and Acronyms

Define abbreviations and acronyms for the first time they are used in text, even if they have been defined in the abstract. Abbreviations such as IEEE, SI, MKS, CGS, ac, dc, and rms need not be defined. Do not use abbreviations in the title unless they are absolutely unavoidable.

Equation

Equation numbering is done sequentially with the number of equations written in parentheses and right alignment, for example (1). The quantity and variables are written in italic Roman symbol. Use a dash (-) to indicate a minus sign. Use parentheses () for the denominators or dividers to avoid mistakes. Give the comma in the equation if the equation is in a sentence.

If the equation is mentioned in a sentence then simply write "(1)," or "equation (1)," except at the beginning of the sentence, it is not written using a comma after parentheses. Forexample "Equation (1) is ..."

Miscellaneous

The use of Roman numeric symbols for numbering the chapters or sub-chapters is optional. If you use Roman numeric symbols, then the references section, the acknowledgement section, and the sub-headings or sub-chapters are not in letters format. Use two spaces to split between sub-chapters. Use hyphens on modified words: "zero-field-cooled magnetization", avoid irregular sentences such as, "Using (1), potential differences have been calculated", the proper writing should be "potential differences are calculated using equation (1), "or" using equation (1), we calculated the potential differences ". Decimal numbers are not written ".25". Use a zero before the period to write a decimal number: "0.25". Use "cm3," not "cc." Do not mix full words and abbreviations in physics units, for example: "weber / m2" instead of "Wb/m2". Use the full word when writing a physics unit in a sentence: "some Henry ...".

  1. Conclusion: The main conclusions of the study may be presented in a short Conclusions section, which should stand alone. The conclusion section should lead the reader to important matter of the paper (answer of the objectives of the study). It also can be followed by suggestions or recommendations related to further research.
  2. Acknowledgement (If any): State acknowledgements in a separate section at the end of the article before the references and do not include them on title page, as a footnote to the title or otherwise. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing language help, or proof reading the article, etc.).
  3. References: The following are guidelines for writing references to the Insecta Journal. References are listed alphabetically and are made in the American Psychological Association 7th (use Mendeley management references). The maximum literature sources used are the last 10 years.
