Kinetic Analysis of Dodecylbenzene Sulfonate (DBS) Adsorption Using Coconut Residue Char Based on Pseudo-Order Models

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinetika adsorpsi Dodecylbenzene Sulfonate (DBS) menggunakan arang ampas kelapa sebagai adsorben berbasis limbah. Percobaan dilakukan dengan variasi waktu kontak untuk mengamati perubahan kapasitas adsorpsi terhadap waktu. Data hasil eksperimen dianalisis menggunakan model kinetika pseudo-orde satu (PFO) dan pseudo-orde dua (PSO). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas adsorpsi meningkat seiring bertambahnya waktu hingga mencapai kesetimbangan dengan nilai q_e eksperimen sebesar 0,0892 mg/g. Model PFO memberikan konstanta laju adsorpsi k_1  sebesar 0,0254 menit⁻¹ dengan koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,9379, sedangkan model PSO menghasilkan konstanta laju k_2 sebesar 1,768 g mg⁻¹ menit⁻¹ dengan R² sebesar 0,9949. Nilai q_e  teoritis dari model PSO (0,0906 mg/g) lebih mendekati nilai eksperimen dibandingkan model PFO (0,0536 mg/g). Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa kinetika adsorpsi DBS oleh arang ampas kelapa mengikuti model pseudo-orde dua, yang mengindikasikan bahwa proses adsorpsi dikendalikan oleh mekanisme kimisorpsi. Dengan demikian, arang ampas kelapa berpotensi digunakan sebagai adsorben alternatif yang murah dan ramah lingkungan untuk penyisihan surfaktan dalam air.
