Abstract

Pengelolaan sampah plastik di sekolah memerlukan kegiatan yang tidak berhenti pada pengetahuan, tetapi memberi ruang bagi peserta didik untuk mempraktikkan tanggung jawab lingkungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan program ecobrick, peran guru, dan indikasi pembentukan kewarganegaraan ekologis peserta didik di SMA Negeri 8 Banjarmasin. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan informan dua guru fasilitator dan enam peserta didik yang terlibat dalam program. Informan dipilih secara purposif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi, dan dokumentasi, kemudian dianalisis secara interaktif melalui pengodean deskriptif, reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Triangulasi sumber, teknik, dan waktu digunakan untuk memeriksa konsistensi temuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa program dilaksanakan melalui sosialisasi, pemilahan dan pengumpulan plastik, pembersihan bahan, pemadatan plastik ke dalam botol, serta pemanfaatan ecobrick menjadi produk fungsional. Guru berperan sebagai fasilitator, pembimbing teknis, motivator, dan pengorganisasi kader. Keterlibatan langsung memunculkan indikasi perubahan berupa meningkatnya perhatian terhadap pemilahan sampah, tanggung jawab, disiplin, kerja sama, dan keinginan menerapkan praktik serupa di rumah. Namun, pemilahan belum konsisten pada seluruh peserta didik dan partisipasi masih bertumpu pada kader tertentu. Dengan demikian, ecobrick berfungsi sebagai wahana belajar kontekstual yang mendukung pembentukan kewarganegaraan ekologis, tetapi bukan pengganti upaya pengurangan plastik dari sumbernya. Sekolah disarankan mengintegrasikan program dengan pembelajaran, memperluas partisipasi, menetapkan pemantauan perilaku, dan menghubungkannya dengan strategi pengurangan serta daur ulang yang berkelanjutan.
