Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji konstruksi budaya berbicara akademik mahasiswa Generasi Z dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di perguruan tinggi. Generasi Z, yang tumbuh di era digital, memiliki karakteristik komunikasi yang berbeda dari generasi sebelumnya, ditandai dengan penggunaan bahasa informal, singkatan digital, dan multimodalitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) mengidentifikasi pola budaya berbicara akademik mahasiswa Generasi Z, (2) menganalisis faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi konstruksi budaya berbicara akademik mereka, dan (3) merumuskan strategi pembelajaran yang efektif untuk mengembangkan kompetensi berbicara akademik. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain etnografi komunikasi, melibatkan 45 mahasiswa dari tiga universitas di Indonesia. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, wawancara mendalam, dan analisis rekaman diskusi kelas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa Generasi Z mengonstruksi budaya berbicara akademik melalui hibridisasi antara register formal-informal, penggunaan kode campur (code-mixing), serta integrasi elemen visual dan digital dalam presentasi lisan. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi meliputi literasi digital, paparan media sosial, identitas generasional, dan konteks pedagogis. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan pendekatan pembelajaran yang mengakomodasi multimodalitas komunikasi Generasi Z sambil tetap memperkuat standar akademik, melalui strategi seperti flipped classroom, peer feedback digital, dan authentic assessment berbasis proyek.
